As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining and improving govdex there will be a number of new features released in the coming weeks. This includes upgrades to JIRA (an issue tracking product, offered by govdex). Further information about the scheduled release date will be provided shortly.
The vendor that supports the underlying software (Confluence and JIRA) has announced that Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) is no longer supported. It is recommended that wherever possible, you upgrade to the latest supported version of Internet Explorer or use an alternative browser such as Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome in order to avoid display and functionality issues, as well as possible vulnerabilities as a result of outdated browser software.
Below is a brief description of some of the key changes to JIRA you will see as part of this release.
The most noticeable change within JIRA is the introduction of sidebar. The sidebar can be used to easily navigate between backlog, issues, reports or sprints.
For those with the relevant permissions, Project Administration is now located at the bottom of the sidebar.
JIRA now offers a range of workflows that are designed to suit the needs of both software and business teams. The Project Lead will be prompted to select one of six default workflows when completing the JIRA Project Application form.
Printable Issue Cards
You can now print issue cards with all key information included. This can be used to create physical boards that mimic your JIRA Kanban Boards or to help with prioritisation discussions.
